$ 40,039 - $44,042 Dependent upon qualifications


Responsible for overseeing all trainings and vehicle orientation to employees for the operations of NRVCS, Community Transit, and Radford Transit. Responsible for ensuring compliance with vehicle operation procedures in accordance with agency policy through compliance reviews and road based observations. Responsible for the oversight of Commercial Driver’s License training and compliance as it pertains to state and federal regulations.


Responsible for presenting instructor-led training courses including but not limited to: Defensive Driving, First Aid & CPR, Passenger Assistance Service and Safety, Wheelchair Securement, etc. Responsible for monitoring and tracking of training records to ensure compliance with necessary trainings, conducting follow up trainings as needed to comply with safety standards and other related duties within a dynamic and high energy operation. Working hours will vary dependent upon demand and type of trainings required.


Qualified applicants will have any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree and considerable experience in supervision, training, safety and vehicle operation. Excellent computer skills and knowledge in standard office products with effective organization and document design skills.


Possession of a valid Virginia Commercial Driver License (Minimum Class B with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements) and an acceptable driving record required.

If not a current CDL holder, ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment is required, training provided.
