The Family Support Partner utilizes their own experiences as the parent/caregiver of a child/youth who has experienced serious emotional or behavioral issues, and involvement in one or more child serving systems, to deliver direct supportive services to parents/caregivers of a child/youth referred to or receiving wraparound services. The Family Support Partner ensures that parent/caregiver/family voice and choice is understood and utilized by other wraparound team members. Connects families to supports and resources within their community, and engages youth and family in the wraparound process. Advocates for family needs within the team and community. Helps to build the families own natural support systems beyond paid providers. Provides services in client homes, schools or other convenient community locations. Assists clients and families with case management needs including but not limited transportation support for meetings, appointments, and accessing resources such as food banks, and employment support.
High school graduate, some college preferred. Lived experience being the caretaker for a child with emotional, behavioral or mental health problems.
