  • OVERVIEW

    Provides peer support, empathy, encouragement, rehabilitation, and education to consumers in the residential crisis stabilization program. Represents the perspective of consumers in planning and provision of program services. Provides individual and group crisis stabilization and education services. Organizes and oversees leisure time and recreational activities.

    Work schedule may include evening and/or weekend shifts.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    All applicant required qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in human services related field with one year direct experience working with individuals with mental illnesses or bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and four years direct experience working with individuals with mental illnesses. QMHP status or eligibility is required.

     

    Peer Recovery Specialist qualifications - Must identify a year in recovery and have a mental health and/or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more. Certification as a Recovery Peer Specialist recognized in the State of Virginia required.

    Peer Recovery Trainee qualifications - Must identify a year in recovery and have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more. Certification or working toward certification as a Recovery Peer Specialist recognized in the State of Virginia preferred.
