This position will provide therapeutic services to youth with behavioral and emotional difficulties in their educational and home settings. Staff will work directly with preschool aged children, as well as, their families, to identify needs, develop treatment objectives and provide strategies and support. This person will work independently with clients but will also be a member of a larger treatment team in order to ensure that progress is being made and continuing needs are addressed accordingly.
This position will be located at the Early Learning Canter at New River Community College in Dublin, VA.
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other human services field is required, with at least one year of experience working with emotionally disturbed youth preferred. QMHP-C or QMHP-E required. Must be registered as a LMHP or LHMP-E, or meet the qualifications as QMHP or QMHP trainee as set forth by the board of counseling.
Candidates must maintain a valid Virginia driver's license and acceptable driving record. If licensed out of the state of Virginia, candidate must be able to provide their driving record from the state in which they are licensed. Respectively, that driving record must meet the Virginia code for an acceptable driving record.
