Provides case management services for adolescent clients with mental illness and substance use disorders who are in the Juvenile Detention Center. Services that are provided to these clients include collaboration with probation officers/court officials, families, schools, medical providers, external service providers, and NRVCS providers to facilitate the client’s return to the community and family, if necessary. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating those services and/or resources needed by the client to maintain and/or return to community living.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required, with at least one year's experience in a setting working with children and/or adolescents with needs in the areas of mental health and substance use disorders. Demonstrated knowledge of case management/social work practices and resources available to help consumers in the community. Valid Virginia driver's license and safe driving record required.
Applicants must meet the qualifications as QMHP or QMHP trainee as set forth by the Board of Counseling.
