Responsible for the coordination and direction of transportation services to clients, customers, and staff of the New River Valley Community Services’ Transportation Program. Position is forty (40) hours per week with excellent benefits.
Community Transit: Performs detailed dispatching duties to include scheduling drivers, establishing route services, performing billing duties, safely transport passengers in a commercial vehicle, and a variety of other duties within a dynamic and high energy operation. Typically morning hours but some flexibility based on operation needs. Some occasional weekend hours may be required.
Possession of a valid Virginia Driver’s license and acceptable driving record required. Must be able to obtain a “Class C” Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement within 60 days of employment (Training provided).
Qualified applicants will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, and considerable experience in transit dispatching and/or vehicle operations. Excellent computer skills and knowledge in standard office products with very effective organization and document design skills.
Ability to maintain positive effective working relationships with others required. Excellent personal and team organization skills required. Excellent customer relations skills required.
