The Facilities Technician II is responsible for working under the direction of the Facilities Services Lead to perform routine preventative maintenance, and successfully complete construction projects and facility work orders in a professional and timely manner. This position requires an extensive knowledge of construction practices, building codes and site maintenance. Responsibilities include facility repairs, remodels, HVAC system maintenance, electrical and plumbing installation and repairs, drywall repair, interior finishing and other facility duties as required including care of grounds and physical appearance. This position must have the ability to work independently and maintain a high level of client and staff satisfaction. Required to work rotating and after-hours calls at night and on weekends.
This position requires any combination of education and/or work experience equivalent to a High School Diploma (or) any combination of field work in facility maintenance services including considerable experience in construction, repair, and systems maintenance. Experience and training equivalent to two years in a senior maintenance position is also required. A qualified license to perform General Contracting work in the Commonwealth of Virginia or trade license is preferred. A valid driver’s License with satisfactory driving record is required.
Applicants must have the ability to proficiently operate a PC, Microsoft Office Programs, and smart phone device. Applicants must have the ability to read, understand and utilize blueprints, Federal, State & Local requirements and codes regarding electrical, plumbing OSHA, ADA and fire regulations. Must be able to make decisions and to problem solve within scope of responsibility and interact positively and respectfully with others including staff, clients, and the community.
